Royal Delft

Turns out today is Dutch ceramic day!
I stumbled upon these stunning images of the Marcel Wanders collection for de Koninklijke Porceleine Fles, Royal Delft.
I love the 17th century dutch painting setting, with the nice, tiny, modern details.
Royal Tichelaar Makkum

Royal Tichelaar Makkum asked four designers to re-interpret the 17th century Dutch flower vase. The results are on show for the first time at Salone 08.
An exact replica of one of the original pyramids served as starting point for a new interpretation by Hella Jongerius, Jurgen Bey, Studio Job and Alexander van Slobbe.

Find out more here.
My personal favorite is the plastic bucket's equivalent of Jurgen Bey!

Theo Jansen

I just discovered this amazing work (via 2 or 3 things blog).
It's from the dutch artist Theo Jansen. In a former life he mainly sticked to painting, but now (10 years already) he is dedicated to these immense, surreal and beautiful new nature, called strandbeesten.

Not pollen or seeds but plastic yellow tubes are used as the basic matierial of this new nature. He makes skeletons which are able to walk on the wind. Eventualy he wants to put these animals out in herds on the beaches, so they will live their own lives.
See more here...
I am just blown away by these amazing pieces of art and great talent.

Harmonie intérieure

The presentation of these nice wall stickers is just fabulous. Okay, the stickers are very cool either, but I fell for the lovely polaroid presentation.
All of this can be found here. At Harmonie Intérieure an atelier for decoration and stickers.
Via laissez faire.
Oh... and about polaroid, really check out this beautiful blog.
Lies I've told my 3 year old recently
Trees talk to each other at night.
All fish are named either Lorna or Jack.
Before your eyeballs fall out from watching too much TV, they get very loose.
Tiny bears live in drain pipes.
If you are very very quiet you can hear the clouds rub against the sky.
The moon and the sun had a fight a long time ago.
Everyone knows at least one secret language.
When nobody is looking, I can fly.
We are all held together by invisible threads.
Books get lonely too.
Sadness can be eaten.
I will always be there.

Happy birthday!

Today's my brother's birthday. Although I won't be seeing him today, I myself have a party feeling. Whooho!
Chris Congratulations!
RayRay

I like to show you the dollhouse and playtower of Momoll. I think it's great.
Momoll is a Swiss company of which the designer wanted a easy stackable, easy to take along dollhouse for his daughter. You can take down the houses completely and make it a flat package, easy to take along. Besides this great asset the houses are pure, multifunctional, flexible and stimulate imagination and creativity. And on top of it all, it's handmade in Switzerland.
I came across this beautiful brand via active-kids.

Tim Walker

I am an absolute fan of Tim Walker. He is a great photographer. His work is often so fairy tale like, very narrative. I just love it, what else can I say. For the weekend I'll just leave you with some of his photo's...

In opdracht van

These two dutch graphic designers did some great stuff already. The talented Marloes de Laat and Roel Vaessen designed books, exhibitions, font types and even graphics for homewear (museolinen).

Villa Augustus

Today I am enjoying the sunshine and discovering this very special hotel called Villa Augustus. Its not only a hotel but also a restaurant, a market and a garden.
I really like the happy, bright feeling of the interior.
Take a look at the website of Villa Augustus and see what I mean.

Treehouse

How cool is this! These treehouses are actually made to sleep or live in them. Great guestroom, don't you think?
I spotted these amazing treehouses in Elle Wonen, a german company called Baumraum is building these houses all over the world. The houses are build with deep respect for the trees and not damaging them in any way.

Sweet treats

Mmm...
